Steam refunds, will that improve the quality of games ?

Steam refunds was recently introduced which means as long as you have not played the game for more then 2 hours and within 14 days you can get a refund no questions asked.

I was really happy for them to do that in my mind it meant companies can not get away with broken buggy games at launch or worse companies just asset flipping unity projects for a quick buck. Now the consumer has power.

And i think the big test came with Arkham Knight which had a numerous issues and it lead to Warner brothers actually suspending sales and promising to fix the game. Now they would have NEVER done that before but now with the refunds i think that was the driving force though i have no figures on how many people requested refunds for the game.

In the end though it will take time to see if it works i suspect the rubbish will still get released on steam and i really think they do need to do more in the way of quality control but the refunds is a step in the fight direction.
