In the gaming world it all starts with the little things and early footage vs full release

Controversy in gaming is very common such as microtransactions ,season passes,, unfinished games at launch and on and on it goes,

And you will come across people who are either very annoyed about it or other people who really do not see the big deal.

I fall into the camp of between the two most of the time with the games i play it does not affect them. Microtransactions in games i play are usually a short cut but i can still play the game normally, season passes i would tend to wait to see what the dlc is like then if i like the look will get them on offer. But as i say in the title it starts with the little things if people let publishers get away with these type of things if people do not stand against them then eventually these little things will be the norm and then things will come up that are far worse.

Publishers will continue to test the consumer to see what works and i have a real fear on what gaming will be like in 10 years.

Now we have new controversies that many years ago i do not remember ever seeing which is early gameplay footage which are better then the finished game. Examples of this include Aliens Colonial marines and Watchdogs. Now i cannot see why a game would look worse when released, developers know the hardware more and with PC the hardware is that much better. We have a really recent example of this happening in the witcher 3.

Now with that the early footage did look a lot better i am in the camp do not show in game footage if it does not reflect what the game will look like. However while me and many people would really chastise other companies such as Sega and Ubisoft with CDProjekt i believe they will get the benefit of the doubt as they are far more pro consumer then most companies and i believe for the PC there will be config file changes, patches and mods that will make the game far better looking.

Mortal Kombat X for the PC

So to cut to the chase the PC version of Mortal Kombat has had numerous issues including crashing cause by memory leaks, installation issues, connection issues and now the erase save issue from the latest patch.

I have a slow connection so thankfully i had not downloaded the patch but to be honest the download sizes of the these patches are ridiculous over 15gb and there have been several patches so i believe with the amount of patches and the full game you may have had to download near 80gb .

I am just not sure why they farmed out the port to a third party anyway i would have thought with the PS4 and Xbox1 being closer to PC architecture then before porting it would be a breeze.

I just assume the Netherrealm are just not as interested in the PC versions of there games but i would be very interested to know how many sale they got for it.
